Central Park was officially opened in 1857 but construction and completion did not get finished until 1873. The park is city run and operated and was designed by Frederick Law Olmstead a well known landscape designer and writer.

The Statue of Liberty:
The Statue of Liberty was a gift given to the United States from the people of France. It was designed by Frederic Bartholdi and finished construction in 1886.
The statue is a colossal neoclassical sculpture that has become one of the most iconic symbols of freedom that represents that of the United States of America. It rests on Liberty Island and overlooks New York Harbor.
The Empire State Building:
The Empire State Building stood as the tallest building in the world from 1931 until around 1972. It is 102 stories tall and now due to the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, is once again the tallest building in the city of New York.
The landmark is an Art Deco skyscraper on the corners of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. It is named one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. If you are ever in New York City, the Empire State Building is a landmark you have to see!
